Daisy’s Dream is a professional service which responds to the needs of children and families affected by life threatening illness or bereavement, in Berkshire and the surrounding areas. As well as supporting the parents and carers of children who have been affected by illness or bereavement, the organisation provides training and advice for professionals who work with children in schools and other settings.
PRISYM ID has pledged to raise £10,000 for the charity through both internal and external events including sporting events such as sponsored half marathons, parachute jumps and cycle rides as well as a number of smaller, community events such as car washes, golf days and Commonwealth Games themed fundraisers.
Mick Daw, CEO of PRISYM ID commented: “We’re very proud to be able to support the work of local charity, Daisy’s Dream. We chose Daisy’s Dream as we like to help local organisations and also because we see the importance of the work that they carry out with children and families in the community.
“We’re very much looking forward to raising funds for this very worthy cause, whilst having some fun at the same time!”
Gill Stevens, Director, Daisy’s Dream comments: “We’re thrilled to accept PRISYM ID’s support next year and are thoroughly looking forward to working with them moving forward. It costs over £300,000 each year to provide and maintain the service that we offer to families free of charge, therefore financial support like this is vital to our survival.”
“Without the appropriate support, bereaved children and young people may be at risk of health, social and educational difficulties and disadvantages, in addition to the impact of bereavement on their emotional health and well-being.”
